We want to help you make your move.

Moving is an exciting process, but it does come with a number of distinct challenges. We've created our moving checklists as a tool to help answer any questions you have. Please read through the information below to get started; if you still have questions, call us to speak with a member of our team: (540) 661-6124.

Move-in Checklist

First Month's Rent & Security Deposit

Your first month's rent and your security deposit are both payable at the lease signing. Check the amount with us beforehand to avoid any complications.

Move-in Date & Inspection

We will provide all inspection information and set the move-in date at the lease signing.

Utilities

As a tenant in a Blue Bee Property Management home, you are responsible for placing all utility accounts in your name. Please do this immediately after the lease signing, to avoid losing access or encountering administrative fees to turn the utilities on again. You also must keep your accounts in good standing throughout the duration of your lease.

Move-out Checklist

Notice of Intent to Vacate

Planning to leave your rental property? Please provide us with written notification of your intent to leave the home at the end of your lease.

Property Condition

Before you hand in the keys for your rental home, you'll need to make certain the property is brought back to its original condition:

  • Rental Cleaning: Please take the time to carefully clean every room in your home. Refer to the inspection report sheet to make certain you don't miss any important steps. Remember, you'll also need to remove your belongings and all garbage from the unit; anything left behind will result in removal fees.
  • Landscaping & Outdoor Areas: Does your rental have outdoor space? If you normally mow the lawn, weed the flowerbeds, or tend to other landscaping chores, please do these immediately before leaving the home.
  • Repairs: If any damage occurred during your stay, make every effort to repair these problems. This includes patching nail and screw holes, repainting discolored walls, and replacing any broken glass.

Security Deposit

After you move out of your rental home, we will conduct a final inspection. If we notice any damage in the property that was not noted during your move-in inspection, we will schedule repairs and use the deposit to cover these costs. The remainder will be returned to you.

As a reminder, your deposit cannot be used for your final month's rent payment.
